25th RUN THROUGH THE WOODS – Thanksgiving Day Family Event
Thanksgiving Family event
You can participate or just cheer them on… This year marks the 25th Run Thru the Woods. It’s a 1,3 or 5 mile race directed by the YMCA and oriented for kids and adults alike. It starts at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion and winds its way over I45 into the City of Oak Ridge North and back again. My family has volunteered to pass out water, help with the sign in and cheer on the runners for years. It starts at 8 am and and is over in about an hour. We’ve known friends, neighbors and classmates who make it part of their family tradition to participate in it for fun. It raises money for the local YMCA and is support by almost every school organization and local business I can think of.
How you might enjoy the event:
Gather your family and join in by signing up to participate (walk or run- kids and adults)
Gather your family, dress for the weather and find a spot to watch from- See the map
Volunteer with you local organization or as an individual/family
The event is over before its time to gather for Thanksgiving and it gets your day off to a fun start together. It’s a tradition you will want to start! See you there, I hope 🙂
